is it me or is that a picture of fairfield?? Spygon 11:16, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
I do believe it is. Once when I played Dead Air, Francis said something along the lines of "Holy crap, the whole city's on fire!" And considering the orange glow in the skyline, I think he's right. That city doesn't have the orange glow. But I also notice the bottom-left corner of the image looks a lot like the rooftop where you first see "God is Dead" written. - I don't know, it's kind of hard to discern. There's a faint orange tint to the whole thing, but it vaguely looks like it's from Newburg. -§tigma-231 ¤৳here's a hole in my neighbourhood[talk][cont] 15:06, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
You can tell that the picture is not near the "God is Dead" roof, because in the background you don't see the fence and the Harbor View Hotel. That is definitely Fairfield. TheCreaturenator16 15:36, 4 February 2009 (UTC)TheCreaturenator16
When I found it, to me, it looked like it was from Dead Air. But I really don't know. ascob4567
Also,if you look across the river in the Boathouse Finale, you'll see what seems to be Newburg.
Landmarks in Newburg[]
Is there enough information for some of these landmarks to have their own page? Specifically, Merrill Law Office and Harbor View Hotel. The other landmarks seem to link to their respective level of the campaign, except the Airport which links to the main campaign page instead of the Terminal level, for some reason. --MadDawg2552 17:23, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Newburgh, NY?[]
There is a Stewart Airport in Newburgh, NY, though I am not sure that was the intended location within the story.
Originally developed in the 1930s as a military base to allow cadets at the nearby United States Military Academy at West Point to learn aviation, it has over the years grown into the major passenger airport for the mid-Hudson region and continues to serve as a military airfield as well, currently housing the 105th Airlift Wing of the New York Air National Guard and Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 452 (VMGR-452) of the United States Marine Corps Reserve. The space shuttle could also land at Stewart in an emergency.

Well, seeing that ALL of Left 4 Dead takes place in Pennslyvania... I doubt it. Ze übermensch 09:41, January 28, 2010 (UTC)
I am betting it is based off of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Chet Says Pittsburgh[]
Chet confirmed to me via email that Newburg is roughly based on Pittsburgh. He also pretty much says Fairfeild is Philadelphia.
